THE WEDDING

GIFTS

Your presence is our present. We really appreciate you coming out to Mallorca to celebrate with us.If you feel compelled to give, we would be grateful for any donations towards the Dementia Research Fund, supported by the National Brain Appeal. Dementia has touched us all in various ways and we would be grateful for any donations to support carers and fund research into a cure.

Details for your donation can be found on The National Brain Appeal website: https:// www.nationalbrainappeal.org/dementia/

CHILDREN & PETS

Friday & Sunday are child friendly.Sadly no pets are allowed. Snoop is not amused.

For the main event on Saturday, we request no children please. We want all our guests to enjoy themselves without distractions.

Our wedding planners have recommended Angels Agency as being professional and trustworthy for childcare. http://www.angelsnursingagency.com/

WHAT TO WEAR

Friday/Sunday: casual. Saturday / The Wedding: Smart casual – mediterranean style.

The wedding will be held in the gardens of Son Doblons (weather permitting) on Saturday. There is ample shade but please do come prepared to be outside. Ladies – there are cobblestones! The average temperature in Mallorca in May is around 17C (low: 10C – high: 24C) / 63F (low: 50F – high: 75F). There is a tent if it rains

PHOTOS AND SOCIAL MEDIA

If you do post to Instagram, please tag with #smkvkw, but please don’t include anyone’s full names. No photos during the ceremony, please. Please add any full-res photos to our shared Google Photos album here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/SLDqFVz56cRrLNwS8 .

TRANSPORT

GETTING AROUND

We would advise that you hire a car while in Mallorca – they’re cheap and easy. Public transport is rare, taxis are sparse and unreliable, and there is no uber. There is ample parking at the Wedding venue.

We have a promotional code available at the car rental company K10 MOBILITY to apply a 10% discount on the value on the website. The code is MALLORCALOVET. The vehicles are new and they offer good prices. To make the reservation you must access the page K10 Mobility, book the rental car online and do not forget to add the promotional code.

GETTING TO AND FROM THE FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER AND WEDDING CEREMONY

Meeting point for the bus on both Friday and Saturday evenings is: https://maps.app.goo.gl/n5G5xBLpL9zPScXy7  (ArtàMOVE, Avinguda de Costa i Llobera, 6, 07570 Artà)

If you are staying outside of Arta – a villa or another hotel or location – please let us know and we can help sort a private car or minibus depending on numbers, e.g. if there is another popular spot, we can group guests together.

ARTA

Driving in central Arta is tricky: a complex one way system, pedestrianised areas, narrow streets and tight corners. However, it is a small town and there are various large car parks on the outskirts of the centre. For your peace of mind, park and walk is your best option. We would recommend this free car park for ease of access to the old town: Aparcament Public, Carrer de la Clota, 24, 07570 Artà, Illes Balears, Spain.

NO TAXIS / UBER

Our wedding planners have requested that we make it abundantly clear that order-on-the-day taxis are NOT an option (whereas they can help arrange pre-booked private cars etc. per the above).

GENERAL

ARE THERE ANY ACCOMMODATION RECOMMENDATIONS?

We’ve set out a few suggestions for accommodation in and around Arta on the accommodation page (along with a couple of suggestions for Palma provided by our wedding planner). If you prefer beachfront or something more lively, I am afraid that
you’ll need to look further afield….

ARE THERE ANY DISCOUNT CODES WHEN BOOKING?

See above for a discount code when booking car hire. A select few hotels have also kindly offered discounts when booking. You can find these discount codes on the accommodation page.

WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE THERE?

Mallorca is renowned for its beaches, cycling, hiking, golfing, cuisine, vibrant markets and historical sites, and would be fun to explore for those making the trip part of a longer weekend or holiday. Part of the coastline near Arta is within the Llevant Natural Park, offering hiking trails and natural beaches accessible only by foot (e.g. Cala Torta), which can be a nice contrast to the busier coastal towns and beaches. Nearby Capdepera and Costa del Pins are home to some of the top rated golf courses in the Balearics. We shall be staying for a few days after the wedding to recover and soak up some sun.
